Hi, my name is Samantha but you can call me Sam!

I am a passionate, nature-loving, freelance florist and floristry trainer who loves everything, plants, fruits and flower-related! I like to think of myself as a little bit of an intuitive florist who lets nature guide my work!

Where did fig and Fleur come from?

I love working with different plants, fruits, and flowers! Fig is a plant and a fruit and Fleur is a flower in French!
I love working with different textures and forms to create interesting and unique designs! Nature is my inspiration always.

My style is a mix of modern, fun with always a pop of something interesting that intrigues people, like maybe some dried or fresh fruits or vegetables, herbs or interesting plants!

I am also a floristry trainer and I work for a registered training organisation called Flowers to Impress School of Floristry here in Townsville and around Australia on zoom!

This is where my florist journey began, I was working in a small florist shop in school and I absolutely loved it!
I was mad about it! But I wasn’t trained, after graduating school I finally found flowers to impress school of floristry and began studying my certificate 3 in floristry, from there my certificate 4 and then my trainer and assessors! This course has taken me to Europe twice and given me the most incredible experiences! I have competed in competitions in Toowoomba at the carnival of flowers and done workshops in Holland and event work on Croatia.

I am so passionate about training because I am constantly growing as a designer, and helping so many people realise their love and passion for flowers! My love for nature and the world around me grows every day.

This career path is more of a lifestyle choice for me! It has lead me up to so many wonderful adventures and people! Becoming a florist and working with my hands and nature is really one of the most rewarding experiences in life.
